Facts

Gypsum is a naturally fire-resistant material that has become a leading construction component of fire-rated wall assemblies. Interior finishing materials are rated for flammability.

There are several types of fire-resistant wall assemblies to suit project specifics, including loadbearing and non-loadbearing.

Fire-Resistant Products

Type X Drywall 

An interior gypsum board consisting of a solid set, fire resistive, Type X gypsum core enclosed in ivory-colored face paper and a strong liner back paper. 

15/16” FireSecure(TM) Stab System 

Suited for both UL and ULC fire-rated designs and tested to ASTM E119 for fire rating. 

Ridge Vent 9” Filtered Class-A Fire Rated 

Works year-round to efficiently ventilate an attic space. 

Type C Drywall 

Similar to Type X, but with more glass fiber reinforcement and other ingredients for superior fire-resistive properties. 

GlasRoc(R) ShaftlinerType X 

For multi-story and multi-family residential applications. Fire-resistive, noncombustible, moisture-resistant core with embedded glass mat and a protective acrylic exterior coating.
